Excellent new app for travelers Uncategorized - May 17, 2010

Great news for all U.S. travelers! Ever cross a state line and get blind-sided by a drastically different state regulation than your last destination? Like laws on talking on cell phones while driving, over-nighting at a rest stop or buying alcohol at certain times? (you know, at one point or another, that last one made ya grumble) Well, a totally great new app was just released in the iTunes store today… because some things change when you cross the line…

Developed by the amazing Technomadia team, Chris Dunphy and Cherie Ve Ard, State Lines is a complete resource on the widely varying and sometimes irritating state regulations.

So if you’ve ever wondered about any of the following, or worse, learned something the hard way, this little app will definitely be your friend!

Can I txt and drive?
Is the sales tax lower 50 miles down the road?
Will the gas tax be cheaper here?
Can I buy real beer in the grocery stores? Can I overnight in rest areas?
Can I keep a gun in my RV?
Is smoking allowed in restaurants?
Are radar detectors legal? Can I make a left turn on red?
Are helmets required?

It’s available for the iPhone and works on the iPod touch and iPad too. I already have it on the iPad and it looks great. It’s one resource I know will always be on hand when we’re on the road!

Thanks to Technomadia for doing all that amazing research to help out fellow travelers!

Thanks, Karen. These information are very useful for my son's clients. He runs a travel agency – Tioga Tours.nl – from The Netherlands to USA and Canada for people who prefer touring around by car or motorhome and who are not familiar with specific laws and regulations.
    Best regards, Henk
