Karen strikes gold in parents’ basement Uncategorized - August 19, 2008

I knew my parents had a lot of old records. But I’ve never actually looked through them. I recently went down in the basement and started to browse through their collection, and …. SCORE!!!!
Now here’s something about me. I realize that it’s the year 2008, however, my music, the music that really gets me going, consists of a vast array of musicians, the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, The Band, Phish, Simon and Garfunkel, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, etc. etc. You get the idea. (and no, Im not a pothead)
So when I discovered this goldmine of albums in the basement (TONS more than in the photo), I told my parents I MUST inherit them! I’m actually going to frame some to hang on my wall. I also must add the the iPod is in there not only for contrast, but I think of it as a family photo. They both carry the same genes (songs). So it’s like a pic of me and my 85-yr-old grandma (ok yeah, I have a wierd mind)
So yes, I thought I would just share the joy of my discovery. (And bewilderment that both my parents owned a copy of Dark Side of the Moon. hmmm….)
