Something Fishy, and a brief Vegas Interlude Blog, Uncategorized - June 21, 2011

I could have stayed in the Page, AZ area for months, but we had to move on so that Ben would have a convenient airport to fly out of. He was teaching at a Kansas photography school outside of Wichita. Now usually I am the one stuck in some remote place while he flies out. This time, the tables were turned. He was heading to Kansas, and I was “stuck” in Vegas.
While I was there, I actually got a lot of work done (I know… who goes to Vegas to get work done???) and I also got to hang out with Steve and Beverly, longtime friends of Ben and Vegas locals. Beverly and I went to see “Blue Man Group,” which was showing at the Venetian, and I just loved it. As long as those blue dudes have been out there, I had never seen them until now. It’s such a unique show they put on, and actually hard to explain, but I knew from the start that it would be interesting because the first few rows were considered a “poncho section.”
Ok, so what about the “something fishy?” Well, it’s probably not what you think. I FINALLY bought my fisheye lens, which I’ve been wanting, like, forever. It’s the Nikon 10.5mm, and I adore it. I’ve rented it several times in the past, and there have been way too many occasions where I had wished it was in my camera bag… so I caved… and now it IS in my camera bag! (*Karen does a happy dance*)
So there’s my Vegas blurb. Next stop: Mono lake and Bodie baby!
